We went to see Tropic Thunder last weekend. It might be the most awesome movie I've seen in a while. I'm not saying it's a good movie, or that I would buy it on DVD to rewatch, but it's damn enjoyable. I did get the feeling that it wasn't really "scripted", per se, but more of a general guideline, like "ok, guys, in this scene we need this and this to happen, go!" and then the actors all came up with lines of the top of their heads. If you don't like Ben Stiller and Jack Black, don't go see this. It's halfway between Zoolander and Nacho Libre, I guess.

RD Jr is just awesome as the black dude who's really an Australian in disguise ("I know who I am, I'm the dude playing a dude disguised as another dude"). Ben Stiller basically is Zoolander with a Rambo complex. Look out for Tom Cruise as Les Grossman, he totally steals the movie. He's absolutely hilarious (and I think he made up most of his own dialogue off the bat). Also, see if you can spot all the other film references (lots of war movies, Chaplin).

I seem to have developed RSI in my left wrist from too much knitting. I'm assuming it's from knitting as that's when I first noticed the pain. Time to cut down on my knitting :( and stock up on Ibuprofen. I'll go to the doc if it doesn't get better, apparently surgery is sometimes required. Add the sore wrist (typing makes it sore too) to my recent minor head-surgery and huge work stress and you can guess how happy I am with life at the moment. I feel like I need lots of chocolate mousse, but that's not really fitting in with my trying-not-to-be-so-damn-fat plan.

1) New layout? Not as far as I'm aware, unless someone haxxored my blog and did some guerilla redecorating. It might just be your feed-reader displaying things differently.

2) yes, I had what I thought was one of my usual sebaceous cysts removed. It turned out to have been all infected and fibrous and had become "organised" so was a lot bigger and nastier to remove than usual. Now every time I move my head it hurts, and facial expressions are a no-no. Botox, only more painful and not as poisonous.

3) No, it's bad for my tummy and waistline :(.

Nope, don't use the feed reader for ljs, I use my friends page for that. But it has everything in a very vanilla layout and I only see people's zooty individualistic wossnames when I click through to comment. That shows it's been a while since I commented on your blog!

An organised and infected sebaceous cyst? Um.

Ah, there's a setting for that. Basically you can apply your LJ scheme to your friends' posts on your friends page.

Yes, it was like a big spongy Smartie :(. I didn't get to keep it in a jar, though.

1) Hmm, maybe I should see this movie...

2) Welcome to the surgically removed undesirable growth sisterhood! :|

3) Smoothie? (As in, kauai-style smoothie, made of fruit, fruit, fruit, more fruit, and fruit juice. Has blender?)

1) I think you'd enjoy it.

2) Yes, I've been in tht club since I had my gall bladder out some years back.

3) Smoothies are not as good as chocolate mousse :(. Maybe a banananana smoothie might work. Or lemon meringue.

Fud and movie (or, movie and fud)

a) Cool. I've been wanted to see Tropic Thunder for a while now. I'll make it a post-exam zone-out dvd.

b) I've been trying to cut down on the maddened chocolate snacking too. Preggie weight I don't mind, but I object to growing a huge butt from compulsive snacking. To this end I'm searching up sweet crunchie and oat-cookie type recipes on the basis that they *have* to be healthier than chocolate. Maybe see if you can make yourself some sweet snacks that don't have too much fat stuff in them.

c) RSI - don't screw around with it. If it gets worse, see the doctor. Don't let a physio bugger around with it because they can make it worse.

Hope life improves forthwith.

I suspect the officionados (sp?) of umpteen% Lindt and its ilk would suggest that route, as it is low in fat content. Or something.

I actually have a recipe for Low-GI fruit/nut/seed bars. I should try to make them again. I will also try to eat fruit and yoghurt when I feel like something sweet. But it's the damn theobromide (the stuff in chocolate that makes you feel happy). Why can't one just buy it in a powder form, and add that to something healthy? I could make meeeeelions ...

Isn't theobromide in cocoa? You could add cocoa to the Low-GI fruit bars :).
