Knitting: not just a hobby

It's more of a lifestyle choice.
So, I'm organising this KIP Day event at Cavendish on Saturday (10am in the Food Court, be there!) and it's gotten out to the press. A journo from the Cape Times contacted my accomplice Jezze and said they were doing an article about it (yesterday's paper, I didn't get it dammit). Then today Jezze gets an email from the producer of Cape Talk's morning show who wants to do a telephonic interview with someone tomorrow morning. She asks me if I want to do it, citing her nerves and lack of coherent sentences as a problem* and now I'm going to be on the radio** tomorrow. Yay.
How did I go from "casual knitter of baby jerseys out of cheap crappy yarn***" to "local organiser of knitting events and media personality"?? Eep. Where will it end?! I might have found my "passion".
* I suspect she just didn't want to be up for the 6.45 phonecall :P
** hopefully saying something other than "braaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnns, cofffeeeeeeeeeeee"
*** You know how you can tell a master needleworker by the fact that they look at the back of the worked piece? Well, you can tell a real knitter by the fact that they refer to it as "yarn" and not "wool".
